RE: We're officially RV'ers

First sit down with the family and ask what they want in floor plans (Bunks, dinnet, side or back kitchen). Then air conditioning, oven , awning, etc. Then narrow it down to the floor plan that fits.

RE: Downsizing my Travel Trailer

I am glade to hear you like the down size of life. We have gone from a 34 MH to a 26.5 TT with small slider and love it. Just as you my health is going south. I love fishing and snowmobiling but I have to give up both for the next 6 months. I'll be getting help to winterize the TT. Hope to be good enough to get it ready in the spring myself.

RE: Bought my first camper!

Congratulations, you'll really enjoy your PU. I had a couple of them in my life and enjoyed them both. Don't worry about the braking just give yourself plenty of room to stop. Have Fun!

RE: Is there an "Official" Trailering School?

There are semi schools but I never heard of one for TT's. The best thing is just hook up and go to an empty parking lot to practice. The thing you have to remember is you are long and wide, you can't stop in the same distance as before. You have to slow it down a lot, get the feel of the rig behind you and be careful. Practice backing up into tight spaces. Have fun! Look at the post in beginning RVing.

RE: generator purchase

I have a Champion also plus I use a 24' extension cord and put it as far as it will go away way from us and everyone else. The other guys didn't mind it at all compared to the construction ones they have mounted behind there cabs. They really make noise. I wish I had a couple of Hondas but I spend my money at the gas pump.

RE: Do you belong to a local Good Sam's Club?

I have written to my state Good Sam's Rep. about finding out about a local club. They said they would contact me and I haven't heard anything in over 3 months. Camping season is growing shorty.

RE: How long does it take to 'break camp'

We take about an hour to the clean up and hook up. I do the outside duty and my DW does the inside. She leave the dishes for when we get home. So it really takes a couple of hours to get things in shape when we get home. Things seem to get cleaner when we do them the morning after the trip.

RE: Taking two truck spaces at Flying J

I would think twice before buying a unit with a bedroom slider. It seems like it would cause a problem if you do stay at a rest area or parking lots. Remember they are just a rest area not a camp ground. You may get away with it at a Camping World.

RE: Parking Lot Follies

That had to be a very small lot or you have a very big TT.

RE: New To Owning

With owning your own you can do any you want with it. You can fill it with things to make it your home away from home. Have fun and good luck.

RE: Painting a propane bottle

Paint the rest of the trailer white instead. The whiter, the better----for keeping both trailer and tank contents comfy! J LOL
